Weddings in La Romana

Getting married in
La Romana.

La Romana is home to Casa de Campo, the country's original luxury resort, and to Altos de Chavón — a replica 16th-century Mediterranean village on a cliff over the Chavón river, with a stone amphitheater and the St. Stanislaus church that has hosted famous weddings for forty years. It's the most architecturally dramatic backdrop in the DR. Beach weddings happen at Minitas; the icon is the stone village.

Best for
A wedding with real architecture — a stone chapel, an amphitheater, a river. Classic luxury.

Who La Romana is for

If you want a venue with real architecture, not just a beach. If a stone chapel over a river says more to you than a gazebo. If the Casa de Campo name and service weigh on your decision. This is the fit.

Getting there

La Romana International (LRM) is 10–15 minutes away, with direct flights from a few US cities plus charters. Punta Cana (PUJ) is about an hour, Santo Domingo (SDQ) about 1h15. Bayahíbe and Saona island are right next door for the day after.

The best time of year

December to April is the safe window. The stone venues at Altos de Chavón sit above the river, breezy; June to November carries the same hurricane-season caveats.
